Solution

The correct option is A

they acquire equal and opposite charges.

  1. When two bodies are rubbed against each other, the electrons from one of the bodies will get transferred into another body.
  2. One of the bodies is losing electrons and these electrons are gained by another body.
  3. When a body is losing electrons it will become positively charged.
  4. When a body is gaining electrons it will become negatively charged.
  5. The number of electrons lost from one body is equal to the number of electrons gained by another body.
  6. Hence, they acquire equal and opposite charge

Hence option (A) is correct.
