Solution

The correct option is D Spermatogenesis produces four haploid sperm cells while oogenesis produces one germ cell and more than one polar body
Spermatogenesis starts at puberty and after spermatogenesis four haploid sperm cells are produced from a diploid spermatogenic mother cell by meiosis.
Oogenesis works in a different manner. Here, primary oocyte undergoes meiosis-I to form a large haploid secondary oocyte and a small first polar body.
Secondary oocyte undergoes meiosis-II during fertilization resulting in the formation of an ovum (germ cell) and second polar body.
So, the correct option is 'Spermatogenesis produces four haploid sperm cells while oogenesis produces one germ cell and more than one polar body'.
