RBCs carry about 20-25 percent of carbon dioxide (CO2). 70 percent of it is carried as soluble bicarbonate salts and about 7 percent of CO2 is carried in a physically dissolved state via plasma. Thus option a is correct.

About 97 percent of O2 (oxygen) is transported by RBCs in the blood. The remaining 3 percent of O2 is carried in a dissolved state via the plasma.
