Question

Which one of the following has the maximum and the least average speed?

  1. Sanjeev moving with 12 km/h
  2. Rajeev running with 5 m/s
  3. Kabir moving with 150 m/min

Open in App
Solution

First convert them into the same unit which is m/s, as it is the SI unit of speed.

  1. average speed= 12 km/h = 3.34 m/s
  2. It is already in m/s, average speed = 5 m/s
  3. 150 m/min must be changed in m/sec, average speed.= 15060=2.5m/s

From the above calculation, we can conclude that

5m/s>3.34m/s>2.5m/s.

Hence, Rajeev has maximum average velocity, and Kabir has minimum.
