Ethyl alcohol ( C2H5OH ) has two Carbon(C) atoms, six Hydrogen(H) atoms, and one Oxygen(O) atom.

Atomic mass of one Carbon atom= 12 g mol-1Atomic mass of two Carbon atoms = 2 × 12 g/mol = 24 g mol-1Atomic mass of one Hydrogen atom = 1 g mol-1Atomic mass of six Hydrogen atoms = 6 g/mol = 6 g mol-1Atomic mass of one Oxygen atom = 16 g mol-1

Step 3: Formula mass of Ethyl alcohol (C2H5OH):

Formula mass = (24 + 6 + 16) g mol-1 = 46 g mol-1

Thus, the formula mass of C2H5OH is 46 g mol-1.
