Why are the sperms are formed in the scrotum?

Sperm formation in the scrotum:

1. Sperm is the male gamete.
2. In humans, sperm formation occurs in testicles that are present in the scrotum and requires a lower temperature than the average body temperature.
3. The scrotum is the bag of skin (loose pouch-like structure) that holds and helps to protect the testicles.
4. The temperature of the testicles needs to be 2°C cooler than the inside of the body.
5. This is why the scrotum is located outside the body and is the reason for which sperms are formed inside it.
