Organisms that possess characteristics of two different species, organisms, or phyla are referred to as connecting links.

Peripatus:

  1. It is also called as velvet worms and resemble caterpillars.
  2. These are primitive arthropods.
  3. These have joint pairs of legs and trachea-like arthropods.
  4. They also possess a worm-like segmented body, non-chitinous cuticle, and segmental nephridia.
  5. Hence, it is referred to as the connecting link between annelids and arthropods.
