Why do plant cells need both chloroplasts and mitochondria?

Chloroplasts and mitochondria:

1. Plant cells require both chloroplasts and mitochondria since they carry out both cell respiration and photosynthesis.
2. Chloroplasts and mitochondria are cell organelles of a plant cell.
3. Chloroplast is the site of photosynthesis in plant cells.
4. It converts light energy(sunlight) into chemical energy.
5. Mitochondria is the powerhouse of a plant cell, generating most of the energy needed for the biological functions of a cell.
6. It produces ATP which is the energy currency of plant cells.
