Solution

Vegetative propagation of leaves:

  1. Vegetative propagation is defined as the process in which new plants develop from vegetative parts of the plants such as buds, and not from the reproductive part of the plant, the flower.
  2. Vegetative propagation is commonly seen in the leaves of Bryophyllum and Begonia.
  3. In Bryophyllum, buds present over the edges of a leaf detach from the parent plant and give rise to a new plantlet.
  4. Even when a leaf falls on moist soil, the buds still develop into new plantlets.
