Question

Write balanced chemical equations for each of the following :

Action of dilute sulphuric acid on potassium hydroxide.

Open in App
Solution

Potassiumhydroxide(KOH) is reacted with Sulphuricacid(H2SO4) to form Potassiumsulphate(K2SO4) and Water(H2O).

The following chemical reaction takes place when hydrogen gas interacts with nitrogen to form ammonia in presence of a catalyst at 773k.

Given chemical equation is:
KOH(s)Potassiumhydroxide+H2SO4(aq)SulphuricacidK2SO4(s)Potassiumsulphate+H2O(aq)Water

Balancing the above equation, we get

2KOH(s)Potassiumhydroxide+H2SO4(aq)SulphuricacidK2SO4(s)Potassiumsulphate+2H2O(aq)Water
