1. Gametogenesis:
It is the formation of haploid gametes called sperms and ova from diploid primary germ cells called gametogonia. This includes
(a) Spermatogenesis: Formation of haploid sperms in males.
(b) Oogenesis: Formation of haploid ova in females.
2. Insemination :
It is the release of seminal fluid of male in the vagina of the female.
3. Fertilization:
It is the fusion of haploid male and female gametes to form the diploid zygote.
4. Cleavage:
It is the mitotic division of zygote to form blastula.
5. Implantation:
It is the attachment of a blastocyst on the endometrium of the uterus.
6. Placentation:
It is the formation of a tissue called placenta between the fetus and mother for nutrition, respiration and excretion of the fetus.
7. Gastrulation:
It is the process by which blastocyst is changed into gastrula with three primary germ layers.
8. Organogenesis:
It is the formation of specific organ systems from three primary germ layers of the gastrula.
9. Parturition:
It is childbirth that makes the end of reproductive phase.
