Open in App
Solution

We know that, a natural number having exactly two factors, 1 and the number itself, is called a prime number.
Also, a natural number having more than two factors is called a composite number.
Therefore,
smallest prime number is 2
and smallest composite number is 4
L.C.M. of the smallest prime number and the smallest composite number:

2|2.4
_________
2|1,2
_________
1,1

LCM=2×2=4
Hence, the smallest composite number is 4 and the L.C.M. of the smallest prime number and the smallest composite number is also 4.
