Free fall.

When an object falls toward earth due to gravitational force alone (in absence of air resistance) is called a free fall.

  1. The velocity of the object increases or acceleration is induced in the body only because of the gravity of the earth.
  2. All bodies fall with the same acceleration, independent of their mass.

Explanation

The acceleration experienced by a body that falls towards the earth under influence of gravity alone is called the acceleration of gravity. It is represented by g and has value 9.8 m.s-2.
