Angular Speed Calculator is a free online tool that displays the angular speed for the given frequency value. BYJU’S online angular speed calculator tool performs the calculation faster and it displays the angular speed in a fraction of seconds.

How to Use the Angular Speed Calculator?

The procedure to use the angular speed calculator is as follows:

Step 1: Enter the frequency value, and x for the unknown value in the input field (Example: 59)

Step 2: Now click the button “Calculate x” to get the angular speed

Step 3: Finally, the angular speed for the given frequency will be displayed in the output field (I.e., Angular Speed =  370.7079 rad/s)

What is Meant by Angular Speed?

The angular speed of an object is the measure of the change in the angular position of an object in a given period of time. The angular speed of the object should possess the same magnitude at any point on the rotating object. It is a scalar quantity. It is represented by the symbol ω. The angular speed is also known as the angular frequency. There is a difference between angular frequency and the angular velocity. The association between these two is that velocity and speed. It defines that angular frequency/ angular speed is scalar whereas angular velocity is a vector. Mathematically, it can be expressed as:

ω = 2πf,

where

ω = is the angular speed

f is the frequency

Angular Speed Example

Example 1:

Calculate the angular speed of the object whose frequency is 78 Hz

Solution:

Given that, frequency = 78Hz

We know that the formula to calculate angular speed is given by

ω = 2πf,

Substitute f = 78 in the formula, we get

ω = 2(3.14159)(78)

ω  = 490.0884

Hence, the angular speed is 490.0884 rad/s

Also, check: Angular Speed Formula

Example 2:

Find the angular speed of the object, given that t = 60 seconds

Solution:

Given that, t= 60 s

We know that f = 1/t

The formula to calculate angular speed is ω = 2πf,

Now, substitute f = t/t, then the formula becomes

ω = 2π/t,

By substituting the value of t= 60 seconds in the above-obtained formula, we get

ω = 2π/60

ω =π/30

ω = 3.14/30

ω =0 .10 rad/sec

Therefore, the angular velocity of the object is 0.10 rad/s.
