CAT 2019 Question Paper Format

CAT 2019 was held by IIM Kozhikode for admissions in MBA courses at 20 IIMs and 200+ business schools in India. The exam consisted of three sections with a sectional time limit of 60 minutes. For CAT 2019, 244,190 students registered themselves, which is the highest number in the last ten years. From these, 209,926 of those candidates took the test successfully.

Marking Scheme for CAT 2019 Exam Question Paper

CAT 2019 consisted of 74 Multiple choice questions and 26 Non-MCQs. The one-third negative marking is applicable to MCQs. Whereas, Non-MCQs do not have negative marking.

CAT 2019 Question Paper Analysis

As a whole, the CAT 2019 Question Paper was not as challenging as that of the 2018 Question Paper. In comparison with the previous year question papers, this year’s QA was slightly easier to score. There were two tricky passages on the VARC Section, which contributed to the difficulty level being slightly higher. There was no change in the question pattern of VARC.

CAT 2019 Question Paper Slot 1

The difficulty level of CAT 2019 – Slot 1 varied from moderate to difficult, with VARC being the most challenging. The CAT 2019 Question Paper for the first slot contained 74 MCQs and 26 non-multiple choice questions. In terms of difficulty level, VARC was on the difficult side, while QA & DILR were easy to moderate.
