The Indian Institute of Management Amritsar is located in Amritsar, Punjab. Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Amritsar is the 15th IIM set up by the Ministry of Education (earlier Ministry of Human Resource Development) with the support of the Government of Punjab. It is temporarily located on the campus of Government Polytechnic College, Amritsar. IIM Amritsar would continue its activities and operations in the transit campus located in the Punjab Institute of Technology, Government Polytechnic Compound till it gets ready with its own campus.

Students here learn not only from skilled academics and industry professionals but also through participating in different club and committee activities. IIM Amritsar is facilitated with spacious classrooms, activity rooms, library, recreational space, computer rooms and other sports facilities. Hostel facilities are also available at different locations for boys and girls. The admission process is a rigorous process where students are screened on the basis of several factors for the final selection. The institution does not conduct any examination of its own and decisions are made on the basis of CAT exam (Common Admission Test) score.

There is no doubt that IIM Amritsar has already carved its name among the top B-schools. The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Amritsar is the 15th IIM to be established by the Ministry of Education (previously the Ministry of Human Resource Development) in collaboration with the Punjab Government, and under the mentorship of IIM Kozhikode. As one of the leading B-schools, IIM Amritsar is seen as being the fastest progressing of the third-generation IIMs. The first batch of students for the 2015-17 school year began enrolling in August 2015. Programmes Offered at IIM Amritsar

IIM Amritsar Financial Assistance and Scholarships

• The Indian Institute of Management Amritsar awards a limited number of scholarships to deserving students enrolled, based on academic excellence and diversity.
• Students can contact several banks directly to inquire about eligibility, interest rates, and other terms and conditions.
• The scholarship money will be distributed in two equal payments during the course of the MBA program for two years.
• The Institute provides the scholarship in the first year of the MBA program, based on students’ prior academic records, success in the institute’s MBA admission process, etc.
• The scholarship’s renewal in the second year is dependent on the recipients’ academic achievement and performance throughout the first year of the MBA programme.
• The selected students will receive the scholarship award letter, along with their admission offer letter.
• The scholarship recipient shall continue to earn the scholarship in the second year of the MBA programme if his or her first-year CGPA is not below 2.96 Following the admissions process, the institute will compile a list of selected students for scholarship considerations.

The scholarship award letter will be sent along with the admission offer letter to the selected students. Furthermore, if a scholarship recipient accepts another scholarship or financial aid from any source, the institute will revoke the scholarship.

Financial Assistance for Doctoral Programmes

IIM Amritsar offers PhD students a limited amount of financial aid, including a monthly stipend, an annual contingency grant, and a research grant to attend conferences and seminars. Medical Insurance coverage is also provided to students as part of the institute’s student welfare programme.

Financial Assistance for post-doctoral fellows

IIM Amritsar provides limited financial aid to its post-doctoral fellows (from the date of joining). The details of the same are as follows:

• A monthly consolidated stipend of Rs. 50,000 on a reimbursement basis, with production of receipts.
• Rs. 30,000 per year as a contingency grant to cover expenses associated with attending conferences, seminars, book purchases, and research activities.
• Rs.1,00,000/- on a reimbursement basis, upon production of receipts, for attending one international conference during their whole duration in the post-doctoral programme.
• Teaching opportunities may be offered to post-doctoral fellows. In addition to the fellowship, the Institute will give an allowance for such efforts.

Campus Life at IIM

Located in Amritsar, the state capital of Punjab and a prominent commercial and cultural centre, the institute benefits from the opportunity to encounter the Golden Temple and the Wagah Border, along with all the other attractions that Amritsar has to offer. With an entrepreneurship environment that focuses on creating a culture where students and faculty work together to create innovative solutions, IIM Amritsar offers a supportive environment in which to learn and grow. IIM Amritsar has a variety of amenities such as IT-enabled classrooms, a digital library with access to the most current national and international finance journals, management journals, an auditorium, a student activity room, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, a gymnasium, spacious hostel rooms, etc.

• All classrooms and seminar rooms on campus are air-conditioned and airy, with amenities such as LCD projectors, internet access, speakers, and other amenities to make learning a delightful experience for students.
• The library at the Indian Institute of Management Amritsar houses textbooks, e-journals, magazines, CDs, case studies, and project reports on a number of disciplines.
• IIM Amritsar’s library is an open-access library that includes numerous e-Journals. The library at IIM Amritsar is fully automated, with internet access available round the clock.
• Thousands of books, journals, periodicals, films, cases, and newspapers are available in electronic format in addition to print materials.
• Students at IIM Amritsar participate in several clubs and committees which represent and promote their interests, including ABC, FEC, Markophilic, Opera Zeal, and Stratagem, the Placement Committee, Industry Interaction Cell and the Hostel and Mess Committee.

Hostel

• Students are also given other amenities such as a bed, study table, chair, and cupboard.
• In addition, facilities such as Wi-Fi, a geyser are available. The hostel has a gym, a recreation area, a television room, and sports facilities.
• The mess offers a wide variety of cuisines, including North Indian, South Indian, Chinese, and non-vegetarian options.
• Mess payment is made along with trimester fees at the beginning of every trimester.

Transit Campus

• IIM Amritsar is now operating from a transit campus within the Government Polytechnic Compound of the Punjab Institute of Technology. The institute provides a comprehensive learning environment for its students.
• In addition, the Wi-Fi-enabled dorm at IIM Amritsar provides convenient lodging for both male and female candidates. The temporary campus has IT-enabled classrooms, a large auditorium, a library, an IT room, banking services, a restaurant, and other vital amenities.
• Students are also encouraged to participate in various learning and research exercises and take advantage of a wide variety of relevant business and management online journal and magazine subscriptions.
• A Student Activity Area is also located on campus, with facilities for playing table tennis and badminton.

Classroom

All classrooms have high-tech infrastructure, such as digitised podiums and ultra-short-throw projectors with interactive displays, which helps students learn more effectively. All of the classrooms include high-speed internet access and power outlets for connecting devices.

IIM Amritsar Summer Placements for 2020-22

All of the summer internship processes were completed in a virtual environment, with impressive figures. The top quartile average stipend of INR 99,207 and the highest stipend of INR 170,000, respectively. IIM Amritsar successfully completed summer placements for the MBA class 2020-22 on a strong note, with 100 percent summer placements, despite the exceptionally challenging times imposed by the pandemic. Some of the top recruiters were Cipla, CRISIL, tyroo, ICICI Lombard, HP, Finlabs etc. Some of the prominent recruiters were FUJITSU, Bharat Petroleum, HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries Limited, CRISIL, Huawei, Sutherland, Anarock, etc.

IIM Summer Placements for 2019-2021

Despite a 50% increase in batch size, IIM Amritsar placed 100% of its fifth batch in summer placements. The year’s highest stipend was Rs. 2,50,000, a 25% increase over the previous year. ICICI Lombard, Cipla, Landmark, L&T, Nielsen, CRISIL, GroupM, etc.

IIM Amritsar Summer Placements for 2018-2020

IIM Amritsar has exceeded all previous standards in the Summer Placements for the 2018-20 batch, with a spectacular average stipend of INR 67,375, continuing its phenomenal record of growth and progress. ValueLabs, Huawei, Fujitsu, and RIL were among the new recruits. ICICI Lombard, HDFC Bank, BPCL, Rubique, and Sutherland are some of the most prominent recruiters.

Final placements 2020-2022

IIM Amritsar recorded a 100% placement for the MBA batch of 2020-22. Leading companies from a range of fields and sectors, including Deloitte, Cipla, and DTDC, Accenture, IndiaMART, Amazon, Crompton Greaves, DHL, EY, Gartner, HCL, Infosys, Mahindra, etc. More than 230 offers were made by 110 companies, recording a 100% placement. IIM Amritsar proudly welcomed 50 new companies to its family of recruiters, like Adani Group,TATA Capital, Birlasoft, Cognizant, Dell, Digit Insurance, Virtusa, Everest Industries, HDFC Bank, Zycus, Holcim Group, ICICI Bank, Dalmia Bharat, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Novartis, BMW, Schneider Electric, HSBC, Reliance Retail, etc.

Final Placement 2019-2021

Despite the numerous challenges posed by the pandemic in 2020, IIM Amritsar ended the academic year 2020-21 with a perfect ending by obtaining 100% final placements for its 5th batch MBA. ICICI Lombard, Anand Rathi, Accenture, Cipla, Polycab, Xiaomi, Infosys, Amazon, Tech Mahindra, Mu Sigma, Grant Thornton, and other reputable organisations returned for recruiting, confirming the quality of the candidates. A few of the new recruiters were Gartner, Capital Foods, HCL, etc.

Final Placement 2018-2020

Despite the economic standstill during the year, the 4th batch of placements was completed successfully. Recruiters participated across various management domains, including marketing, sales, finance, etc. Companies such as Amazon, Grant Thornton were first time recruiters
