How to Calculate Your UPSC Score with Answer Key
To tally their score, UPSC exam aspirants can keep the following information in mind.
- The GS and CSAT papers are of 200 marks each
- There are 100 question in GS and 80 question in CSAT
- A negative marking of 0.66 and 0.833 is there for every incorrect answer in GS and CSAT papers respectively.
- Candidates scoring above the designated cutoff marks will be eligible for UPSC Mains
- In case the candidates’ scores find their store near the expected cutoff after tallying with the UPSC Answer Keys, then it is recommended that preparations for IAS Mains be undertaken.

UPSC Prelims 2022 Strategy
How difficult or easy the UPSC Prelims will be is entirely dependent on the individual candidate’s own capabilities. Regardless it is prudent to incorporate a sound strategy in order to clear the Prelims stage
The following elements must be considered when making a UPSC Prelims 2022 Strategy:
- Emphasis on current affairs into your revision plan.
- Do not have too many reading materials at han as too much information will be overwhelming to process
- Standard sources such as the Hindu Newspaper, PIB, Yojana and Kurukshetra will be useful enough especially where UPSC specific information is
- For basic concepts, NCERT books are recommended.
- Practice reducing incorrect answers as there is negative marking in UPSC Prelims.
