NICL Syllabus - Detailed NICL AO Syllabus & Exam Pattern

The NICL syllabus for the various exams conducted to appoint candidates in the insurance company is set by the conducting body. The conducting body for all NICL exams is National Insurance Company Limited.

NICL AO Exam Pattern

The selection process for the NICL AO exam comprises three stages. These three stages include:

• Preliminary Exam
• Mains Exam
• Interview

Candidates who qualify the prelims exam are shortlisted for the mains level and the ones who qualify the mains are invited for the Interview.

The NICL AO prelims exam is an objective type of paper where 100 questions are asked which need to be answered in a time period of 60 minutes. Given below is the NICL AO Prelims exam pattern in detail:

The conducting body releases the cut off for the prelims exam and accordingly the candidates are shortlisted for the mains examination.

The mains exam comprises both objective and descriptive type of paper and the mode of examination is online for both. Given below is the NICL AO mains exam pattern in detail:

The final stage of the NICL AO exam is Interview. The final merit of candidates is based on the marks scored in the mains + Interview level of examination.

At the time of Interview candidates are required to present all the certificates and degrees as mentioned by them in the application form for verification. 

The candidates who manage to qualify all the phases of examination and get their documents verified successfully are finally appointed at the post of Administrative Officer in NICL.

NICL AO Syllabus

For any candidate to qualify an exam with flying colors it is important for them to have a clear idea about the syllabus and exam pattern. Only then they can prepare themselves for the exam. 

The same applies for the NICL AO syllabus. There are in total five major subjects that are a part of the NICL AO Syllabus. These five subjects are:

1. English Language
2. Reasoning Ability
3. Quantitative Aptitude
4. Computer Knowledge
5. General Awareness

NICL AO Descriptive Exam Syllabus: The descriptive exam shall comprise three questions of total 30 marks. These questions include: 

1. Precis
2. Comprehension
3. Essay

Only the candidates who score the minimum qualifying marks in the objective type paper of mains exams, will have their descriptive test checked. A separate cut off shall be decided for the descriptive test also.

Candidates must note that the NICL AO syllabus is vast but with sufficient study material and adequate help, it is not very tough to crack the exam.
