2019 JEE Advanced Paper Analysis

The JEE Advanced 2019 was held on May 27th. The exam was conducted by IIT Roorkee and approximately 1.70 lakh candidates appeared for the exam. Paper 1 one was conducted in the morning shift from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm while paper 2 was conducted from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. The exam pattern was similar to 2018. However, now that exams have concluded students can check out the paper analysis on how the question paper was set, its difficulty level and other details.

Subject experts at BYJU’S have thoroughly reviewed and provided detailed paper-wise and subject-wise analysis of the JEE Advanced question papers. The paper, in general, was a bit harder compared to last year (2018).

2019 JEE Advanced Paper 1

The overall difficulty of paper 1 was moderate. As usual, Maths was on the difficult side while physics was on a moderate level. The chemistry was the easiest section.

2019 JEE Advanced Paper 2

Paper 2 was comparatively easy than paper 1. In this paper, the math section was a little tough and lengthy, physics was lengthy also while chemistry was yet again the easiest section.

JEE Advanced Question Paper Subject Wise Analysis

Now, we will look at the subject wise analysis of the question paper. Students will get to know the types of questions, weightage and the syllabus from where the questions were asked.

JEE Advanced Question Paper Physics Section

Physics questions in paper 1 and paper 2 were on a moderate level but lengthy. The paper consisted of 2 easy questions while 19 were of a medium level and 14 were highly difficult. The total weightage for the paper was 186 and each section was given a maximum of 62 marks. In paper 1, 19 questions were asked from the 11th syllabus while 16 questions were from the 12th standard. The physics section in both the papers had questions that were concept and application based on some calculations.

JEE Advanced Question Paper Maths Section

The mathematics section in paper 1 and paper 2 had questions that were on a moderate to difficult level and they were long as well. 14 questions were asked from the 11th standard syllabus and 22 from the 12 standard syllabi. Questions from Matrices and Differential Equations were asked.

JEE Advanced Question Paper Chemistry Section

Chemistry section in both paper 1 and paper 2 was the easiest. The questions were mainly designed to test the candidates’ understanding of the concepts. In this section, questions from inorganic and organic chemistry were balanced while there was less number of questions from physical chemistry. There were 11 questions from the 11th standard syllabus and 25 questions from the 12th standard syllabus.
