JEE Main 2018 Question Paper Analysis

CBSE conducted JEE Main 2018 offline exam on 8th of April and the online exam on 15th and 16th of April 2018. Around 1.15 Million JEE aspirants appeared for this exam in the offline (1.05 million students) and online modes (1.22 Lakh students). Students are advised to have a thorough analysis of the paper pattern and the marking scheme before starting their preparations. The pattern of JEE Main 2018 paper was the same as that of the last year. There were thirty objective type single correct option multiple-choice questions from each Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics. For every correct response, 4 marks were awarded and 1 mark was deducted in case of an incorrect response. All the unattempted questions were exempted from any negative marking.

JEE Main question paper 2018 – As per our experts, the difficulty curve of all the three subjects in the JEE Main 2018 paper was almost similar to each other. However, physics was the toughest in comparison to Maths and Chemistry. Out of 90 questions, around 20 questions were tough, 37 questions were moderate and 33 questions were easy in terms of difficulty.

JEE Main 2018 Question Paper Maths Section

Surprisingly in JEE Main 2018 paper, Mathematics was the easiest in comparison to the other two subjects. Several questions were directly formulae based and calculative. 10 questions were from class 12th syllabus whereas 20 questions were from the class 11th syllabus. Out of a total of 30 questions, there were 13 easy, 14 moderate and 3 tough questions.

JEE Main Question Paper 2018 Chemistry Section

The difficulty curve of JEE Main Paper 2018 Chemistry section was in between moderate and easy. There were both theoretical and formulae based questions. As a result, most of the students answered this section quickly and saved a lot of time for the other two sections. 14 questions asked were asked from class 12th syllabus and 16 questions were from the class 11th syllabus. Also, there were 3 tough, 17 moderate, and 10 easy level questions from this section.

Question Paper of JEE Main 2018 Physics Section

Physics was the toughest section in JEE Main 2018 paper. Most of the questions required a broad knowledge of concepts and their applications. However, the section was moderate in terms of lengthiness. 17 questions were from class 12th syllabus and 13 questions were from the class 11th syllabus. In this section, there were 4 difficult questions, 20 moderate and 6 easy questions.
