In Mathematics, the Least Common Multiple, abbreviated as LCM, is a method used to determine the smallest multiple that is common for the given positive integers. 

For example, the LCM of 4, 6 is calculated as follows:

Multiples of 4: 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, …

Multiples of 6: 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, ….

From the multiples of 4 and 6, the least common multiple is 12.
