“NEET Cut off is the minimum score a candidate must secure to successfully qualify for medical counselling. The regulatory body for NEET, the NTA (National Testing Agency), announces the NEET Cut off marks along with the declaration of results.”

NEET enables medical aspirants to seek entry to medical institutes across the country. NEET 2022 is all set to take place on 17th July 2022. As per statistics from NEET 2020, it had a cutoff of 720-147 for the general category. It should, however, be noted that the score mentioned is the score of the last candidate admitted to MBBS in the open round. NEET cut off marks are different for students belonging to different categories. Those candidates who score marks equal to the cut-off or more will qualify to secure an All India Rank (AIR).

For seats in UG courses such as BVSc and Animal Husbandry under 15% AIQ (All India Quota), different veterinary colleges do accept NEET Cutoff scores. For admissions to the AYUSH courses as well, NEET is the qualifying test, which was recently upheld by the Supreme court. The process of admissions at various medical colleges will hence be commenced by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) on the basis of the NEET cut-off.

• All seats including NRI Quota and Management Quota, in private aided/unaided minority/non-minority medical colleges
• AIIMS and JIMPER Institutes across India

The cut-off is the least score that should be attained to qualify for the entrance examination. The cut-off for NEET Exam will be published by the NTA a month later along with the result declaration. The list will contain the All India category wise ranks of the qualified candidates. According to that, all the participating states will prepare their own merit list for the process of counselling. The NEET cut off for each category the previous year was shot up by 15 marks.

The NEET cut-off percentile will be declared on the scorecard in addition to the cut-off score and the number of applicants. The candidates who have cleared the cut-off will be required to then register themselves for the NEET Counselling process which is scheduled to take place weeks after results declaration.

NTA will declare NEET Results a few weeks after NEET concludes. The counselling process will commence from there onwards. To begin with, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) shall conduct counselling for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) and then counselling for 85% state quota seats that will be carried out individually by corresponding state counselling officials.
