The GSEB (Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board) SSC and HSC exams are usually conducted in the month of March every year. As per the latest announcement by the news agency ANI, the Gujarat Govt on 2 June 2021 has decided to cancel the Class 12 board exams, quoted state education minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama. This decision follows the Union Govt’s decision to cancel the Class 12 exam of CBSE due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
For the year 2021, Gujarat government had earlier decided to postpone the Classes 10 and 12 Board examinations while also announcing mass promotion for all the rest of the Classes in view of the rising cases of Covid. The state education department plans to review the situation at a later date and decide accordingly. Following the CBSE decision, the Gujarat government postponed the examination for the Classes 10 and 12, which was to be held from May 10 to 25. The government will review the situation on May 1 and then come out with an updated schedule. The students appearing in Classes 10 and 12 examinations will be provided enough time as they would be informed of the date at least 15 days prior to the exam schedule, according to the officials.

For Class 10:
Meanwhile, last year, the Secondary School Certificate exam (GSEB SSC Board exam) for 2019 began on the 12th of March 2019 and finished by the 23rd of the same month.
The exam timings were morning sessions with a shift of 3 hrs between the times – 10:00 AM to 13:20 PM.
For Class 12:
The Higher Secondary School Certificate exam (GSEB HSC Board exam) for 2019 was in the month of March.
- For the General stream between the dates of 12th of March to the 28th of March.
- For the Science stream, the exams start on the 12th of March to the 27th of March.
The exam timings for class 12 was held in the evening session from 3:00 PM to 6:15PM.
