RRB Eligibility 2020 - Railway Exams Eligibility

The criteria for RRB eligibility is set by the Railway Recruitment Board. The eligibility criteria for the RRB exams ensure that the best candidates are recruited for the various posts available in the Indian Railways.

RRB Eligibility

Candidates who are applying for the various RRB Exams to be conducted this year must go through the RRB eligibility criteria set for various exams carefully.

The Railway exam eligibility set by RRB for different exams may vary, but the common factors of RRB eligibility criteria always include nationality, age limit, and educational qualifications.

RRB Eligibility | Age Limit

One of the RRB eligibility criteria is the age limit. The average age limit for the various exams is at 18 minimum and about 32-33 years at maximum.

RRB NTPC Age Limit

For the 7th CPC Level -2 and 3 (Under Graduate Level Posts) that date of birth of candidates should be between the years given below (both dates inclusive):

RRB JE Age Limit

As per the Eligibility Criteria set for Age Limit by the RRB, the following table provides information for different categories.

RRB ALP Age Limit

The RRB Assistant Loco Pilot age limit is between 18 years and 28 years of age. The upper age limit relaxation for select candidates is given in the table below:

RRB Group D Age Limit

Candidates willing to appear for the RRC level 1 or RRB Group D examination must be from the age group 18 to 33 years.

The age limit of candidates appearing for RRB Group D examination is to be calculated from 1st July 2019. The Date of birth of candidates applying for the exam should be between 1st July 2019 and the dates given below (both inclusive):

RRB Eligibility | Nationality

The nationality criteria for all the RRB Exams are the same. They are as follows:

  • A citizen of India
  • A subject of Nepal
  • A subject of Bhutan
  • A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 to permanently settle in India
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with to permanently settle in India.

*Important information that candidates need to keep in mind are:

  • Candidates who are yet to get their degree are not eligible to apply
  • Candidates in their last semester cannot apply
  • Candidates can not apply for multiple RRB JE Posts. Only a single post can be selected during the application process.

RRB Group D Educational Qualification

A candidate who wishes to appear for Group D Railway exam must have:

  • Class 10th pass certificate OR
  • ITI degree or diploma

Any of the above degrees from a government recognised institution/Board/NCVT/SCVT is acceptable.

RRB JE Medical Standards

Candidates will have to pass the required physical fitness test conducted by the Railway Administration. It is to ensure that they are medically fit to carry out duties connected to the post opted by them.
