RRB Group D Eligibility 2021 – The Railway Group D eligibility criteria is decided by the Railway Recruitment Board. Candidates willing to appear for RRB Group D exam can apply for the same only if they fulfil the prescribed RRB Group D Eligibility Criteria.

Railway Group D Eligibility
The Railway Recruitment Board has not yet announced the notification of RRB Group D 2021 and 2020 recruitment.
Through the official notices of the examinations, the railway board releases a detailed description of the eligibility condition mandatory for the exam. Similarly, the railway board prescribed in detail the RRB Group D eligibility conditions in the exam notification of RRB Group D 2019-2020.
Candidates before applying for the Railway Group D examination must go through RRB Group D eligibility conditions because:
- RRB conducts verification of eligibility criteria with reference to original documents.
- Verification is done, once the candidate qualifies all the stages of the exam and gets shortlisted for the Document Verification round.
- The Railway board has the right to reject the candidature of the applicant at any stage of recruitment in case he/she is found to be not fulfilling the required criteria and,
- If the candidate is appointed, in such a case he/she is liable to be removed from service.
- A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination but the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.

RRB Group D Eligibility Age Limit
As per the notification, the railway board has set upper and lower age limit for RRB group D exam. Candidates willing to appear for the RRC level 1 examination must be from the age group 18 to 33 years.
Precisely, the RRB Group D age limit is as follows:
- Lower Age limit – 18 years
- Upper age limit – 33 years
The age limit of candidates appearing for RRC Level 1 examination is to be calculated from 1st July 2019. The date of birth of candidates applying for the exam should be between 1st July 2019 and the dates given below (both inclusive):

The RRB Group D age limit given above gives certain relaxation to candidates belonging to reserved categories. The RRB Group D Age relaxation for different category candidate is given below:
Note*
- If a candidate is eligible for age relaxation on more than one ground, he would be accorded the highest of the limits (not cumulative) for which he is eligible.
- Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC-NCL (Non-Creamy Layer) and applying against unreserved vacancies will not be allowed any relaxation on age.
- PwBD candidates applying against UR vacancies will be allowed age relaxation applicable for UR PwBD only.

RRB Group D Nationality
Candidates willing to appear for the Group D Level 1 exam of the Railway Board are required to fulfil the RRB Group D Eligibility condition in terms of Nationality Or Citizenship.
Only the candidate who fulfils the following conditions of nationality will be allowed to appear for the examination. A candidate who is:
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A subject of Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee permanently settled in India from and before January 1, 1962.
- A person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, East African countries of Uganda, Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Zaire, Zambia, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (2), (3), (4) and (5) presents a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India to the recruiting body.
RRB Group D Education Qualification
The railway board has set a minimum level of education qualification that a candidate must possess in order to appear for the RRB Group D level 1 examination.
A candidate who wishes to appear for Group D Railway exam must have:
- Class 10th pass certificate OR
- ITI degree or diploma
Any of the above degrees from a government recognised institution/Board/NCVT/SCVT is acceptable.
Note*
- Those awaiting results of the final examination of the prescribed minimum educational qualification SHOULD NOT apply.
- Diploma/Degree in Engineering will not be accepted in lieu of the course completed Act Apprenticeship / ITI. Also, Graduate Act Apprentice will not be accepted in lieu of Course Completed Act Apprenticeship.
RRB Group D Medical Standard
Like educational qualification, the railway board has prescribed the RRB Group D medical requisites in the notification. Candidates who are called for DV – document verification have to pass the required medical fitness test(s) conducted by the Railway Administration.
The medical fitness tests are conducted to ensure that the candidates are medically fit to carry out the duties connected with the post opted by them. Visual Acuity Standard is one of the important criteria of medical fitness of railway staff.

Note:
- The above medical standards are indicative and not exhaustive and apply to candidates in general
- Candidates who have undergone Lasik surgery or any other surgery procedure to correct refractive error are not eligible for the post having Medical Standards A2, A3, B1 and B2.
- Candidates are advised to ensure that they are eligible as per the medical standards for the posts opted by them. Candidates found medically unsuitable for the applied post (s) shall not be given any alternative appointment
